I have some copper bottom pans that are non-magnetic and want to know if they are aluminum or austenitic stainless steel (the only steel that is non-magnetic). Is there an easy way to tell?
Look for a stamp on the back of the that will look like a fraction it is usally 18/10 or 18/15 this number tells you the quality of your stainless cookware. The first number is the percentage of chromium and the second number is the percentage of nickel. The higher level of nickel the better the cookware, and less likely to corrode.
