I have a pan that seems to have a sticky residue on it and I'm afraid if I scrub it too hard it will get all scratched up. Its been through the dishwasher a few times but I don't want to keep doing that. Any tips?
My first recommendation would be to hand wash. The dishwasher detergent is extemely hard on anything it comes in contact with.
Try using powdered stainless steel cleaner. It comes in a container much like traditional kitchen cleansers but is made to shine stainless steel without scratching. There are several brands available and it should be easy to find at your local grocery store.
